Uttarakhand Technical University which is also known as Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University is a state university located in Dehradun. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in multiple streams. The popular Uttarakhand Technical University courses are B.Tech, BA LLB, B.Pharm, MBA, M.Tech, and, M.Pharm. The university is the only affiliating university in Uttarakhand for technical education. It is approved by the UGC and AICTE. Admissions to the courses of the university are based on entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, UKSEE, GPAT, etc. The Uttarakhand Technical University ranking was 9th in Uttarakhand by EduRank 2022. 

Uttarakhand Technical University Dehradun was established in 2005 by the Government of Uttarakhand under the Uttarakhand Technical University Act 2005. The university has 81 Affiliated Private Institutions and 12 Government Institutions under its umbrella and is currently offering 8 UG, 6 PG and, 18 PhD courses in various specializations. Apart from this, UTU Dehradun has also established 6 Constituent Colleges in the remote areas of Uttarakhand to spread quality technical education. These constituent colleges of the university are:

Moreover, the Uttarakhand Technical University placement rate is 80% and the highest package offered is Rs 54 lakh per annum followed by an average package of Rs 3.5 lakh per annum. Various central and state government scholarships are offered at the university on a merit basis and need basis to deserving candidates. UTU has an 8.372-hectare campus located in the Suddhowala area of Dehradun and a strength of 20,000 students at present. The campus is equipped with all basic amenities like a library, sports grounds, transport facilities, canteen, medical aid, etc. 

The university accepts various state and central scholarships to students. For the reserved category students from the SC/ST/OBC categories as well, there are various schemes available. 

• National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme: The National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) was introduced in May 2008. The motive of this scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance and thus quality education to students from financially weaker sections of society. This scholarship is also widely used for students who dropped out after class 8 and encourages students to continue their studies at the secondary level. 
• Scholarship for State/Central aided institutions: As part of this Uttarakhand Technical University scholarship scheme, students are awarded an amount of Rs 6,000 per annum which is Rs 500 per month. This is awarded to selected students from the state government, central government or local body schools. 
• The quota of Scholarships for UTs/States: There exists a quota of scholarships for some special states and union territories. Candidates whose family income from all sources combined is not more than Rs 1,50,000 per annum are eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme. The State Bank of India (SBI) directly transfers the scholarship amount of such students to their respective bank accounts on a quarterly basis. 

• The Uttarakhand Technical University admission process usually takes place in the months of April and June. For the 2023 session as well, the admissions are expected to start around the same time. 
• Further, the university also accepts the scores of various entrance examinations to grant admission. These include exams like JEE Main, UKSEE, GATE, etc. 
• The JEE Main 2023 exam for session 1 was conducted on January 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, and, 31, 2023. The JEE Main 2023 result for session 1 was thereafter announced on February 7, 2023. For the Uttarakhand Technical University B.Tech admission, the JEE Main 2023 session 2 registrations will take place from February 7, 2023 to March 7, 2023. The session 2 JEE exam will be held from April 6, 2023, to April 12, 2023. 
• Moreover, the GPAT 2023 registrations have started from January 2023. Interested candidates are advised to register soon. 
• The Uttarakhand Technical University admission for M.Tech is based on the GATE exam. The GATE 2023 exam is being conducted on February 4, 5, 11, and, 12, 2023. The GATE 2023 result will be released on March 16, 2023. 
• The UKSEE 2023 registration is expected to begin in May 2023 and the UKSEE 2023 exam is expected to be conducted in the fourth week of June 2023.

The Uttarakhand Technical University admission process starts from the registration and filling out of the application form. The detailed application process for 2023 is as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website uktech.ac.in

Step 2: Register yourself as a fresh applicant by entering the details like mobile number, email id, etc.

Step 3: Once registered, fill out the detailed application form of the university.

Step 4: Upload the required documents in the prescribed format and size.
